As propane gas grill aficionados in Rocky Mount, NC, we spend a lot of time on the grill. We’ve also made a couple of mistakes. When you’re grilling with our products though, we want you to have the best time possible. With that in mind, here are 3 grilling mistakes to avoid.
1. Not Pre-Heating
Just because you’re not using a conventional oven, doesn’t mean you can skip preheating. While it’s tempting to just get started cooking, wait 10 to 15 minutes to allow it to preheat. This not only makes sure you have nice grill marks on all your food, but it also prevents food sticking to the grates.
2. Starting Out With a Dirty Grill
Always start with a clean grill. Not only will it impact the taste, but it can cause your food to get stuck to the grates. For tips on cleaning the grill, check out our guide.
3. Constantly Lifting the Lid
It’s so tempting to watch how it’s cooking the whole time, but if you want to eat anytime soon, limit how much you check! Opening and closing constantly causes your grill to lose its heat and it will take your food so much longer to cook.
