Ever worry that you’re on the verge of a grilling disaster? As much as we love using gas grills in Rocky Mount, NC, we are well aware how dangerous they can be if not used correctly. At Daughtridge Energy, we cant stress enough how important it is to make sure you’re safe. Whether planning a cookout this month or sketching out some get-togethers, you need to make absolutely sure you’re doing it right. With that in mind, here are 3 harmful mistakes to dodge when you’re grilling.
1. Not Washing the Grill
I know that the last thing you want to do after a night of grilling, on top of the dirty dishes, is to clean the grill — but make sure you do it. Not only does it prevent last night’s burgers from attaching to tonight’s roasted veggies, but it also prevents your food from sticking to the grates. If you want some tips for cleaning your grill, check out our no stress guide.
2. Constantly Lifting the Hood
I know it’s hard to resist that temptation, but if you keep that lid closed, your food will cook faster and more efficiently. Opening and closing the lid multiple times causes the grill to lose its heat, so your food will take longer to cook. That’s delaying dinner in a way that your stomach will not love.
